Program
What is the program of the San Diego French Film Festival 2025?
The Festival runs from May 3 to 7. The opening reception on May 3, followed by the Festival days on May 4 to 7 at at the LOT La Jolla and May 5 to 7 at Carlsbad City Library.
In addition to the event open to the general public, The Young Cinephiles' Day is a special gathering for students learning French. It will take place on March 20 and is organized in collaboration with schools in San Diego.
Are the movies with subtitles?
Yes, all the movies presented have English subtitles.

What is included in the Gala Ticket on May 3?
The Gala Ticket includes access to the film screenings, dinner with two drinks, and an after-party with a DJ.
Additional drinks will be available for purchase at the bar. Guests will also receive goodies and may enter a sweepstake to win prizes.

What is included in the Movie Lovers Ticket on May 3?
The Movie Lovers Ticket includes access to the film screenings only. Attendance at the dinner and party requires a Gala Ticket.

Tickets must be purchased online in advance.
What time does registration open?
Guests may enter the theater starting at 4:30 PM. If arriving early, guests are welcome to wait at the bar until registration opens.

What is the dress code?
The dress code for the reception is black tie. Suits or tuxedos and evening gowns are encouraged. Guests are invited to dress up and enjoy the red carpet experience.
Guests attending the screenings only with a Movie Lovers Ticket may dress casually.
Are vegetarian or vegan options available for dinner?
Yes, vegetarian and vegan options will be available.

Can food and drinks be ordered during the movies?
Yes. THE LOT offers a selection of food and beverages that may be ordered at the seat during the screening for an additional cost. Food and drinks are not included in the ticket price and must be purchased separately.

Do tickets need to be presented at the theater?
Yes. For quick and easy check-in, guests should present their ticket on their phone (a screenshot of the QR code from the confirmation email is accepted) or bring a printed ticket. Tickets will be scanned on event day. Guests may also check in using their name or email address at registration.

Can the confirmation email be resent?
Yes. Please follow the instructions provided in the confirmation email. Tickets will also be resent on the morning of the event.

Is it possible to attend only the dinner and party?
No. A single Gala Ticket grants access to the full event, including the films, dinner, and party. Guests wishing to attend only the dinner and party must purchase a Gala Ticket.

Is parking available at THE LOT in La Jolla?
THE LOT offers limited underground parking beneath the theater. Parking validation is available for 3–4 hours. After that time, hourly rates apply. Street parking and public parking structures are also available nearby. Carpooling is encouraged

What is included in the tickets on Festival Days?
The tickets includes access to the movies and any panel discussion that will be linked to a screening.
On Monday, May 4, join us for a screening followed by a panel with Q&A with movie professionals.
Where can tickets be purchased?
Tickets must be purchased online and we recommend advance booking as we cannot guarantee availability for walk-ins. Festival Days only: Follow this link
Are seats numbered?
No. Seating is on a first come first serve basis.
What is the dress code?
The dress code is casual chic. Our step and repeat with red carpet will be on site. Take advantage of it to capture a nice memory!
Can food and drinks be ordered during the movies?
Yes. The LOT offers a selection of dishes and drinks. You may order them at your seat during the movie for an additional cost. Please note that food and beverages are not included in the price of your ticket and must be purchased separately.
Is there a parking at THE LOT in La Jolla? The LOT has a small parking under the movie theater. You can validate your ticket for 3-4 hours. Above 4 hours, check for the price per hour or consider street parking. Be aware that rules vary depending on streets. There are also public parkings available nearby.
Consider carpooling to facilitate parking.

It depends on the movies. Please check the rating of each movie on our program.

Member Pricing & Membership Questions
What are member prices?
Member prices are available to Alliance Française San Diego members with an active membership. If a ticket is purchased at the member rate without a valid membership, the organizing team will contact the purchaser to adjust the price.

How many tickets at the member price can be purchased with a membership?

Individual memberships*: One ticket at the member price per day of the festival.

Family memberships: Up to four tickets at the member price per day of the festival, for members of the same household only.

If a ticket is mistakenly purchased at the member price, the team will contact the purchaser to adjust the amount.
*Youth, student, senior, and military memberships are individual memberships.

Can a family membership be used to purchase tickets for friends?
No. Family memberships apply only to members of the same household. Friends may purchase non-member tickets or become members.

Can an individual membership be used to purchase tickets for family members or friends?
No. Individual memberships are personal and cannot be used by others. Family members and friends may purchase non-member tickets or become members.
Is it possible to upgrade an individual membership to a family membership?
Yes. Please contact culture@afsandiego.org to request an upgrade.

What should someone do if a ticket was purchased at the member price by mistake?
No worries—this happens. Two options are available:

Tickets
Are tickets refundable?
Tickets are non-refundable but may be transferred to another guest. If a ticket holder cannot attend, they are encouraged to transfer their ticket to a friend or family member.

For May 3, can seat assignments be changed?
Seat changes cannot be accommodated after purchase. Requests for reserved seating for guests with disabilities will be considered, and the event team will make every effort to assist.

Is there an early bird price?
Yes. Early bird pricing is available on the ticket platform until February 15, 2026.
