Each month, you are invited to read a book and then discuss during an in person meeting with our group animated by Daria.
Our program includes meetings with contemporary authors!
This is an excellent way for you to practice or maintain your French language outside the classroom. The book club is open to all.

Thanks to the Federation of the Alliances Françaises USA, we offer online interviews to meet contemporary authors. These events are open to all and free for members.

From classics to contemporary literature
(re) discover classics of the Francophone literature to ultra contemporary authors. The selection of books is organized by our club coordinator in agreement with the members of the club.

We have the pleasure to welcome authors who share their work and passion with our community.
Daria Samokhina, Book Club coordinator and Instructor
After earning her diploma as a teacher of French, Daria spent two years in Tours, where she taught and immersed herself in the language and culture of the Loire Valley. She later moved to the U.S. to continue her studies in French literature at Notre Dame (MA) and Stanford (Ph.D.). Since 2008, she has lived in San Diego, where she shares her deep appreciation for French language, culture, and literature with students, friends, and family—and with anyone curious about the rich world of French books and ideas.
