We offer private French lessons or semi-private classes (for up to 3 students) and tutoring tailored to each student’s level and goals. Private classes can be held from Monday to Friday, in person at the Alliance Française San Diego in UTC, at your home (depending on the location), or online. Since lessons are subject to availability of our instructors, please contact us at education@afsandiego.org so we can help you find the right teacher.

We’ll work with you to assess your level, set your goals, discuss your availability, and gather any other details to match you with one of our highly skilled teachers.
We assist students preparing for a move to France, studying at French universities, or simply planning a trip. As a certified center for French language certifications, AFSD offers private lessons that are an excellent way to prepare for standardized tests such as the DALF, DELF, and TCF.​

​Other Fees:
- Membership in the Alliance Francaise is required for all AF students after 10 hours of private classes which gives you access to all our benefits for members. If you purchase a package of 25 hours, the student membership is offered ($59)
​- Private classes in person at home: $15 fee for each class to reimburse the trip to the teacher. This option needs to be confirmed ahead of booking, so we can make sure a teacher is available to come to your home.
- Books may be required depending on your objectives.
NB: The platform applies a default fee to support their services. This rate may be modified at checkout so you can choose the amount.
Semi-private French classes (up to 3 students

They are also available and reduce the cost of the classes per student.

10-24 hours $85/h (=$42.50/h/student)
25 hours or more $75/h (=$37.50/h/student)

1-9 hours $110/h (=$36.67/h/student)
10-24 hours $100/h (=$33.34/h/student)
25 hours or more $90/h (=$30/h/student)

Semi-private classes are online or in-person.
