850 Years of the First Steam‑Powered Boat
A week celebrating innovation, engineering, and the spirit of discovery inspired by Claude de Jouffroy d’Abbans
This summer, children will dive into the fascinating world of early engineering by exploring the invention of the first steam‑powered boat, created by French engineer Claude de Jouffroy d’Abbans. His pioneering work marked a turning point in transportation history and opened the door to modern steam navigation.
Throughout the week, campers will learn about the science behind steam power, the evolution of boats, and the creativity of inventors who changed the world. Through hands‑on experiments, building challenges, and storytelling, children will experience the excitement of innovation and the joy of making things move.
