French Film Club

The San Diego French American School is opening its auditorium to welcome the Alliance Francaise de San Diego for its monthly French Club, supported by Ingrid Pasco.

Les Magnetiques - Magnetic Beats

Magnetic Beats premiered in the Director’s Fortnight parallel selection of the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, where it was honored with the SACD Prize, awarded by the French Writers’ Guild. The film then went on to win the Prix d’Ornano-Valenti in Deauville.

In 2022, the movie got 3 Cesar awards:  Best First Feature Film, Most Promising Actor and Sound

A bunch of friends yearning for excitement broadcast a free radio station from their hometown in the countryside. Jerome leads it with unique charisma while Philippe, the technical genius, lives in the shadow of Jerome, his big brother. When called for the military service, Philippe has no choice but to leave for West Berlin. He’s determined to keep on broadcasting, but realizes that he just lived the last glorious moments of a world on the verge of extinction.

The movie is in French with subtitles in English. 

To sustain our event and small nonprofit organization, we suggest a donation of $10 at the door for adults.

The movie is recommended for 16 year old
