Concert Cappella Pratensis - The Golden Mass

Step into the mystic world of the Missa Aurea, a medieval liturgical drama celebrating the Annunciation, when the divine meets the human. In this “Golden Mass,” the message unfolds through chant, polyphony, and sacred theatre once performed amid flickering candles in the great churches of the Low Countries.

Performed by Cappella Pratensis, this program brings to life Guillaume Dufay’s radiant Missa Ecce ancilla Domini, paired with chant propers for the Feast of the Annunciation and luminous Marian motets by Antoine Busnoys. The evening also features a dramatic plainchant, echoing the original medieval tradition.
