About the Event
Join us on Thursday October 10, 6.30 PM to 8.30 PM for the "Cafe des Sciences", a Talk and Reception.
Our guest speaker is scientist Lia Siegelman who will share about "Similarities between Jupiter's giant cyclones and Earth's Oceans".
The presentation will take place at Pacific Highlands Ranch Recreation Center, starting at 6:45 PM and will be conducted in English.
It will be followed by a Q&A session and informal discussions over a buffet.
Lia Siegelman is currently an assistant professor of geophysical fluid dynamics at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego. She began her career with an engineering degree from Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chausses, Paris, France and later obtained a PhD in Physical Oceanography at the Universite de Bretagne Occidentale. She then moved to California to continue her research as a postdoctoral fellow at Caltech and the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
