The placement test helps us better understand your strengths and needs so we can recommend the course best suited to your current level.
This is one of the many ways we can help make your language-learning experience with us both successful and enjoyable.
The AFSD placement test takes approximately 10 minutes and is conducted by phone.
The test costs $20. This amount will be deducted from the cost of a group class when you register at Alliance Française de San Diego.
New to French? Skip the test and register directly for any Beginner A1 Level 1 class.
If you’re considering private
classes, you can skip the placement test—your
teacher will assess your level during your first class and recommend the best approach for you.
Our test will help you determine your level, according to the assessment recognized by the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), a
solid test frame for understanding French as a Foreign Language.
