Hike in French

Join us for a hike on POTATO CHIP ROCK via Hwy 67 Trailhead.

Time: 9am -12 aprox.

MEETING POINT -PARKING:

We will meet at the POTATO CHIP ROCK TRAILHEAD by the SIGN (white and black).

You put "Woodson Mountain and Potato Chip Rock via Hwy 67” into your GPS. This route starts on the side of Rt. 67, where you can park for free along the road (RED ARROW). Make sure to NOT park in any red zones. Hide any valuables in your car.

HIKE INFO: The 4 mile round-trip route takes Mt Woodson Road to the Potato Chip Rock summit. Elevation gain: 1,227 ft. It's a paved and steep route with fantastic views. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, there are a few sections where the gradient eases up and you can catch your breath.

There are NO bathrooms, so plan ahead to stop at a gas station to use the restroom.

Feel free to stay/wait in line to get your photo standing on Potato Chip Rock. People wait over an hour! We will descend after eating snacks. Keep in mind people get hurt or die every year when they try risky posses for the picture. It’s best to have someone with you to help you to climb the Potato Chip Rock, it’s challenging.

WHAT TO BRING: Bring at least 1L or 33oz of water, electrolytes and a snack. We will find a place to take a 15 min picnic to eat snacks. Pack only what you can carry.

A minimum of 10 participants is required to make this happen.  max 25 participants.

In case of bad weather, or not enough particpants, the event will be canceled and the announcement will be made 48 hours before.
