The evening will be dedicated to  Thirza Vallois's new title, Aveyron, A Bridge to French Arcadia. Thirza Vallois is a master story teller. Tonight she will unfold the captivating story of this once destitute, remote corner of France that is now singled out for its unbeatable, idyllic quality of life. Recently, it took a ploushare and a team of oxen to furrow through its meagre soil. Today the Averyon is home to the cutting-edge Millau Viaduct,  the world's tallest bridge to date, surpassing even the Eiffel Tower. This is also the home of the legendary Roquefort cheese and of the Compostela pilgrim road. In astonishing Aveyron ancient prehistoric dolmens  and contemporary Michelin-starred restaurants cohabit, and  Knights Templar villages host anti-globalisation rallies.  Come and find out more...

"This book is not written as a travel guide but a revelation. It delves so deeply into so much of the Aveyron that it brings it to life on the page. And it is so well presented by the author that every chapter is a fascinating read and hard to put down."
